Facing Changes is an album by the American punk rock band Hangnail, released on BEC Recordings in 2001, a sub-label of Tooth & Nail Records. The album was produced and recorded by Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mixed by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room.
Hangnail features Matt Wendt and Nick Radovanovic on guitar and vocals; Mike Middleton on bass and vocals; and Jacob Dosemagen on drums.
As all rock fans know, Christian America is crazy for punk rock. (Okay, we know US punk rock is a long way from the Pistols, Clash, et al originators but what’s in a name?) The fast and furious rock form with its pogo-ing rhythms and bawled vocals has spawned literally hundreds of American bands of varying quality. One of the best is Hangnail whose first self-titled BEC album caused a bit of a stir Stateside. Their follow up offers 12 songs of unrelenting energy and there’s a 6-song ‘acoustic album’ limited edition bonus. Says the band’s lead singer Mike Middleton, “We feel that our evangelistic role is in opening up minds who otherwise wouldn’t give Christianity a chance.” Amen to that.
