Description
The self-titled album by the American singer and songwriter Dicky Ochoa, a.k.a. Richard Swift (March 16, 1977 – July 3, 2018), was released on Metro One Recordings in 2000, distributed by Word Entertainment. The album was recorded and mixed by Keith Kuchta with Dicky Ochoa and Jyro Xhan of Mortal, Fold Zandura, and Cush fame producing. All song written by Dicky Ochoa except “Breath of God” written by Chris Lizotte.
Simple, repetitive melodies, a gutsy band with that well-forward bass sound like the old U2 and a raunchy white rock voice. Just when you might dismiss it as cliche it slips under your skin. A debut album, yet Ochoa understands how to craft a song using light and shade drawn out of the instrumentation; full marks for understanding of the pop genre. A complaint – all the credits were so tiny I literally had to use a magnifying glass. The lyrics are the honest comments of a today Christian and it was nice to have them written out. Great driving music! [Stella Redburn, Cross Rhythms, May 2001]
