Description

Realworld is an instrumental album by the American producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Diggs, released on Palo Alto Jazz ‎in 1983. The album was recorded by Billy Taylor, Don Holden, and Jack Joseph Puig at Mama Jo’s Recording Studio, Hit Man, and SoundCastle in Hollywood, California; with Bob Edmondson and David Diggs producing (except track B2 co-produced by Diggs and Ron Peters). Mixed by Billy Taylor. Arranged and conducted by David Diggs, with Doug Cameron as concertmaster strings. All songs written or co-written by David Diggs, except track A1 written by Herbie Hancock and Melvin Ragin, track B2 written by Bob Wilson (and originally recorded by his group Seawind on their 1977-album), and track B4 written by Leon Russell.

Featuring David Diggs on keyboards, guitar, and percussion, as well as Paul Jackson Jr. on guitar, Leon Gaer on bass, and Ed Greene on drums, with Bob Carlisle of Good News and Allies fame providing vocals. As well featuring Jim Coile on tenor saxophone and flute, Tom Kubis on alto saxophone, David Boruff and Joe Roccisano on alto saxophone and flute, Danny Ackerman and Jerry Hey on trumpet, Ken Wiley on French Horn, Bob Edmondson and Doug Wintz on trombone, and Paulette Miller on harp.
