Re:Imag:ine is an album by the American singer and songwriter Chris Taylor of Love Coma fame, independently released on Lo-Fidelity Records in June 2016. The album was produced and recorded 2016 by Chris Taylor at The Creative Space in San Antonio, Texas.
Chris Taylor has been a one man cottage industry, putting out a load of albums under his own steam, most recently through Chicago’s Lo-Fidelity. This collection gathers together a selection of his earlier songs and, well, re-imagines them, remixes them and gives them a new life. And there’s plenty here which deserves to stumble back out into the daylight to be rediscovered, going right back to 1993’s «On My Way» from his Love Coma days. In an era when we have fewer true Christian artists than ever before, Chris Taylor is still flying the flag! This trawl through some of his back catalogue unearths gems like the moody and imaginative «Drowning On Dry Land» and the brilliant album closing epic, the nine minute «Twist». He has a gift for creating hypnotic grooves like «In My Dreams» whilst weaving lyrics infused with thought provoking phrases that stay with you. There are two nicely different versions of «Heavy Duty Soul» and the brilliant «Emotional Wi-fi» sees the collision of a distorted guitar groove and Taylor’s poetic lyrics.
