There’s a Stirring is a solo album by the American singer and songwriter Annie Herring of 2nd Chapter of Acts fame, released on Sparrow Records in February 1992. The album was recorded at Easter Song Studio in Garden Valley and Rosewood Studio in Tyler, Texas; with Buck Herring producing.

Just the mention of this lady’s name is enough to stir memories of my “childhood in Christ”. It has, unbelievably, been 20 years since Annie and her siblings redefined contemporary Christian music, as the 2nd Chapter of Acts. Though the trio is not currently active, Matthew and Nellie have continued to contribute to Annie’s solo projects. Describing herself as a “song receiver”, Herring, husband/producer Buck and keyboardist/arranger Smitty Price have crafted a group of songs that are eloquent in their simple praise of an awesome God. «You Are» and «Hide Away» reflect intimate moments with the Lord while «We Will Worship the Lamb» (a rare non-original) and «Glory in the Highest» are more majestic and congregational in their scope.
