Colour

Description

Colour is the sophomore full-length album by the British DJ and electronic dance music composer Andy Hunter, released on Nettwerk in April 2008.

Noted for providing music on soundtracks including the Matrix Reloaded and many computer games, a lot of people do not realise they’ve already been exposed to this highly talented DJ/producer. The second full album follow up to ‘Exodus‘ displays a wonderful array of modern sounds, blending with Andy’s musical grounding of the ’80s. The Beloved-influenced electronic pop track «Stars» and «Shine» with its breathy vocals by DBA’s Shaz Sparks is slightly reminiscent of Laurie Anderson’s «O Superman». From the off set this album is striking with the synth techno blasting rhythm «Sound Pollution». The techno sounds reappear on tracks «System Error», «Out Of Control» and «You». An eclectic mix of trade mark ambient sounds and hard edged dance beats keep the listener fixated to experience the next track. The beauty of the understated «Fade» and «Sapphire» are like the ‘Lion lying with the Lamb’. Produced with Robbie Bronnimann and featuring in the surprise guest vocalist one time hitmaker Midge Ure, this is one album that will have the repeat button pressed many times. A completely modern dance album that has the quality to become a major mainstream success. [Paul Knab, Cross Rhythms, May 2008]
