Solo

Description

Solo is an acoustic instrumental album by the British singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Adrian Snell, released on Myrrh Records in 1994, a division of Word.

One reviewer has already suggested that these instrumental straight-onto-DAT renditions of favourites from Adrian’s vast repertoire (The Passion to Beautiful…Or What!?) sound “better than they do in the original”. I don’t know if I agree with that, and anyway I’m also not sure that a lowkey instrumental album is the best way to return to the music scene after a year’s sabbatical but what do I know? Superlative technique on the concert grand with a style that is both fluid and uncluttered. Of the familiar material «Coverdale» is still a gem. But I suspect that this album will be used more as a pleasant background in believer’s homes rather than being an album many will listen to with concentration.
