Description
Midnight Awake is the eighth studio album by the British singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Adrian Snell, released in 1983 on Marshalls in the UK and on Pilgrim America in the US, distributed by The Benson Company. The album was recorded by Joe Wilson at the Master’s Touch in Nashville, Tennessee; with Ray Nenow producing for Primacy Productions. Overdubs and vocals was recorded by Colin Owen and Terry Rowley at The Old Smithy Recording Studio in Worcestershire, England. Mixed by Bob Clark at Great Circle Sound in Nashville. Track arrangements by Tim Smith and John Lawry with string arrangements by Smith.
The album was written and recorded in Nashville during 1981/82 and is a collaboration with other writers, in particular the Joe English Band who also plays on the album (keyboardist John Lawry – later of Petra fame, guitarist George Cocchini, bassist Tim Smith, and drummer Joe English). Britain’s Norman Barratt of Barratt Band fame is as well featured on guitar. Midnight Awake received a nice review in the March issue of CCM Magazine: “an album of honestly good pop music” was the verdict.
