Description
Sometimes Alleluia is the sophomore album by the American instrumental project The Sonlight Orchestra (fronted by keyboardist Kim Rose), released on Myrrh Records in November 1976, a division of Word. (Myrrh did release two more albums under the same moniker in the beginning of the 1980s, produced by D. Bergen White and Neal Joseph respectively.)
Rose, Roberts and crew were apparently deemed fit enough to be invited back for this encore performance. Not quite as interesting as the debut mainly due to the soft-jazz component (although I caught myself smiling at their funky ‘70s jazz interpretation of Honeytree’s «Searchlight»). Also «I Can’t Wait», «Prince Song», «I Am A Servant», «Say I Do», «It Took A Carpenter», plus others. No vocal snatches this time, but they do give you a lyric sheet so you can sing along. Might possibly work as piped-in muzak for old Jesus freak reunions. Spanking cover art. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th edition]
