Finally Him, Finally Me

Description

Finally Him, Finally Me is an album by the American singer and songwriter Sharalee (Sharalee Lucas), released on Greentree Records in 1980. (Re-issued by Impact the following year, featuring new cover artwork as well as a slightly different tracklist on side two of the LP.) The album was produced by John Thompson.

Sharalee released her debut album on Greentree nearly two years ago. It was a good album, but a repeated comment was the her vocal techniques lacked originality. Happily, she has come into her own with this major new release, appropriately titled Finally Him, Finally Me.

Sharalee has teamed up once again with producer John Thompson, and together they have assembled a very satisfying array of material. They wrote two songs each and collaborated on another. Also included is Denny Correll’s «Lead Me Home», Gary Chapman’s «Open Up My Eyes», and Carolyn Gillman’s «Resurrection Power», plus songs by Van Stevenson, Scott Roley and Mitch Humphries.

Musically, the album is more rock than MOR, though the latter was once Sharalee’s forte. She also demonstrates her ability to sing country with a very credible «You Mean More to Me». She really is a great singer, and Finally Him, Finally Me, provides an excellent opportunity to hear what she really sounds like. [CCM (Records – What’s New), July 1980]
