Scepter

Description

The self-titled and sole album by the American pop/rock band Scepter was released on StarSong Records in 1982. The album was recorded and mixed by Brian Tankersley, assisted by Paul Mills, at Rivendell Recorders in Pasadena, Texas; with Tankersley and Wayne Watson producing. Arranged by Brian Tankersley and the band. Strings arranged by Paul Mills and Wayne Watson. Illustration by Randy Rogers & Company. All songs written by band members Simonson, Smith, and Crawford, except track A2 written by Ed Raetzloff. (Scepter appears exclusively with the David Wilkerson Crusade Team, Lindale, Texas.)

Scepter features singers/songwriters Craig Smith (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Rick Crawford (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), and Si Simonson of Messenger fame (acoustic and electric pianos), and a rhythm section consisting of Kevin Snow on bass and Warren Baker on drums and percussion. Additional musicians: Jerry McPherson on electric guitar and Russell Dunlap on percussion. Background vocals by Rick Crawford, Craig Smith, Wayne Watson, and Brian Tankersley.
