Description
Rockfish Crossing is the fourth album (part studio, part live recording) by the American country-rock outfit Mason Proffit featuring brothers John Michael and Terry Talbot, released on Warner Bros. Records in 1972. Side one of the album was recorded by Charlie Dreyer at Hollywood Sound Recorders in Los Angeles, California; while side two was recorded live by Marty Feldman at The Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, California (a popular venue for live music in the ’60s and ’70s), with the aid of Wally Heider’s mobile studio (a.k.a. Wally Heider Recording). Mixed by Charlie Dreyer at Sound Labs in Hollywood, California. The album was produced by Ron Sales and band member Terry Talbot.
All songs written by band members John Michael and Terry Talbot, except the country classic “You Win Again” written by Hank Williams and “Call Me The Breeze”, a song written by J.J. Cale, as well as the trad. tunes “Cripple Creek” and “Quit Kickin’ My Dog Around”, arranged by John Michael and Terry Talbot.
