Description
The Belle Album is an album by the American soul singer and songwriter Al Green, released on Hi Records in 1977, a division of Cream Records. Also released in the UK by Pye Records the same year. The album was recorded by Fred Jordan at American Music Recording Studios in Memphis, Tennessee; and was produced by Al Green with Reuben Fairfax, Jr. and Jordan co-producing. Mixed by Bill Cantrell, Jordan, and Green. Written and arranged by Green, Jordan, and Fairfax.
The Belle Album was included among CCM Magazine‘s Top 10 Albums of the Year. – Still a leader in the secular world of soul music, Green made his stand in 1978 with this self-produced, self-recorded album that turned out to be one of his biggest sellers yet. Though the message is gospel, the sound is still 100 per cent original Al Green. (These ten albums released during 1978, were chosen for excellence in production, arrangements, composition and performance, as well as their overall contribution to contemporary Christian music.)
