Description

Just Because is an album by the American pop quartet The Imperials, released on Impact in 1976, a division of The Benson Company. The album was recorded by Bob Clark at Starday Studios and Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Phil Johnson producing. Mixed by Clark at Studio By The Pond in Hendersonville, Tennesse. Track arrangements by Gary S. Paxton and vocal arrangements by Terry Blackwood (tracks: A2, A4, A5, B4, B5).

Featuring various covers, including “Sometimes Alleluia”, a song written by Chuck Girard and recorded on his self-titled solo debut album released on Good News Records in 1975, and “Love, It Comes In All Colors”, a song written by Gary S. Paxton and recorded on his album The Astonishing, Outrageous, Amazing, Incredible, Unbelievable, Different World of Gary S. Paxton released on NewPax Records in 1976.

The Imperials lineup for this recording features Armond Morales, Jim Murray, Sherman Andrus, and Terry Blackwood. After the recording of Just Because, both Andrus and Blackwood left to form the contemporary Christian music act Andrus, Blackwood & Company. Thus in early 1976, the group hired baritone David Will (who retired from touring with the group in 2017), and as well soulful belter Russ Taff as their new lead vocalist. The Taff-led outfit was first heard on the following studio album, Sail On.
