Strings, oboe, and French horn by L. A. Players (recorded at Martinsound Studios in Alhambra, California.)

Revelation is a Florida-based group led by Carolyn and Leo Gillman and ‘For His Glorious Majesty’ is the group’s debut album. Word will soon spread that Carolyn is a fine songwriter, and this LP provides an excellent showcase for her tunes (she wrote them all).

Although Carolyn’s writing style is very similar to Annie Herring‘s (2nd Chapter of Acts) at times, the instrumentation gives Revelation a distinctive sound. An up-tempo, multi-keyboard and synthesizer emphasis adds brilliance to the effect of these songs (the title track is similar in sound to Apollo 100’s ‘Joy’ from a few years back). Generally speaking, Revelation has provided an enjoyable debut work, despite a few technical and vocal liabilities. The group shows promise for good things in the future.
