Born Again

Description

Born Again is an album by the American singer Pat Boone and The First Nashville Jesus Band, released in both US and the UK on Boone’s own label Lamb & Lion Records in 1973. (As well released by the Swedish gospel label Pilot.) The album was engineered by Jack and Billy Linneman at Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Martin Haerle producing in association with Hilltop Productions.

I guess about everything has been said at one time or another about Pat Boone’s life and career, and by writers more colorful than I. But in my own cornbread and buttermilk way, I’d like to tell you about this album and what Pat Boone means to me.

Every time I see Pat I think of the old song, “This Little Light of Mine and I’m Gonna Let It Shine.” Have you ever noticed how he always smiles and seems so content? He radiates that which all men should have – peace within. I’ve also noticed that Pat is a man whose deeds speak far louder than words, though he’s always ready when asked with a heartwarming testimony about his religious convictions. You know, I can’t help but believe that those white bucks Pat wore for many years and all that milk he drinks represent more than just something to wear and drink. I don’t want to make it sound as though Pat Boone is someone we should worship, but he is a good representative of what a man should be.

This album is a collection of some good, down-home gospel songs that will warm your heart and revive old memories. Pat gives an outstanding performance backed by some of Nashville’s finest musicians – The First Nashville Jesus Band.

After hearing the album I think you’ll agree with me that this is one of Pat’s finest efforts, and that the producer, Martin Haerle, deserves a big pat on the back. Pat, it’s great!
