Description
Invisible Man is the sophomore and final solo album by the American singer and songwriter Oden Fong of Mustard Seed Faith fame, released on Frontline Records in 1986, distributed by The Benson Company. The album was “recorded at Invisible Studios Mobile Unit” with Oden Fong producing. Engineered by Chris Taylor at Asaph Recording Studio in Anaheim, California. Mastered by Bernie Grundman.
Most instruments are played (acoustic and electric guitars) or programmed (keyboards, bass and drums) by Oden Fong with keyboardist Rob Watson of Daniel Amos fame sitting in on tracks A4 and B1, Keith Edwards providing drums on track B1, John Wickham of The Way and Parable fame playing lead guitar on track B2, and Shawn Waggoner providing saxophone. Vocals by Oden Fong and Marie McGilvray.
This album I recorded mostly at home with an 8 track recorder synced to a Linn 9000 drum/midi computer. Purely experimental it is a notebook of thoughts and ideas I had at the time. All guitar parts were played though a tiny Rockman preamp. The drums, keyboards and bass were all programmed with midi. The only tracks recorded onto tape were the vocals, guitars and saxophone. This is why the album sounds more like a demo than a studio album. [Oden Fong, 2016]
