I’ve Been Freed is the sophomore album by the American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Doug Howell, released on Eden Records in 1977. The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Banninger at Pinebrook Recording Studio in Alexandria, Indiana; with Michael “Mike” Glenn Kuzma producing. Arranged by Doug Howell. All songs written by Doug Howell except track B5 featuring lyrics by Mark Minor.
Featuring Doug Howell on lead and harmony vocals, as well as keyboards, backed by Dan “Wonderknucks” Leonhardt on acoustic and electric guitars, Mark Johnson on bass, Mark Minor (as well as Doug) on drums, and Steve Hanna on percussion, with Bobbi Ludwick providing harmony vocals. As well featuring Greg Purdue on flute, alto flute, and English horn, Pam Murphy on flute, Larry Leffler and Al Morrow on trumpet and flugelhorn, Greg Eichman and Michael Davis on French horn, Arlen Wiseman and Dwight Kiger on trombone, and Pat Motovick on harp.
