Description

Streetshadows is an album by the American producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Diggs, released on the Californian jazz label TBA Records ‎in 1984, a division Palo Alto Records. The album was recorded by Billy Taylor, Paul Klingberg, Don Murray, and Jack Joseph Puig at various studios in California – Mama Jo’s Recording Studio and Bill Schnee Studios in North Hollywood, Peace In The Valley Recording in Arleta, Can-Am Recorders in Tarzana, and Starlight Studios in Malibu – with David Diggs producing and arranging (“an indiggnant production”). Mixed by Billy Taylor and Paul Klingberg. Second engineers: Steve Ford, Todd Van Etten, and Ann Calnan.

Featuring David Diggs on acoustic and electric piano (Fender Rhodes), synthesizers (Jupiter 6, Yamaha DX9, Prophet 5 and 600), and electronic drums (Oberheim DX Drum Machine); backed by Eddie Watkins Jr. and Louis Johnson of The Brothers Johnson on bass; Paul Jackson Jr. on guitar with Lee Ritenour providing guitar solos; and Harvey Mason on drums; as well as George Howard on soprano saxophone (track A5); Ernie Watts on tenor saxophone; and Doug Cameron on acoustic and electric violin (track B3). Featuring lead vocals by Bob Carlisle and Dianne Reeves (track B4) with backing vocals provided by Mary Ella Meek and Carlisle. Track A1 arranged by George Johnson, John Schuller, and David Diggs; and featuring David Diggs on synthesizers, John Schuller on Fender Rhodes, David Williams on guitar, George Johnson on guitars and bass, and John Robinson on drums.
