Description
He is King, sub-titled The Music of Christmas by Danniebelle, is a Christmas album by the American gospel singer and songwriter Danniebelle Hall of Andraé Crouch & The Disciples fame, released on Light Records in 1976. (Re-issued by Onyx International Records in 1983 featuring new cover artwork and re-titled Song of the Angels.) The album was recorded by Bob Norberg at Capitol Studios in Hollywood and by Billy Taylor at Mama Jo’s Recording Studio in North Hollywood, California; and was produced by Bill Maxwell “with help from” Andraé Crouch and Bill Cole. Mixed by Norberg at Capitol Studios. Instrumental arrangements by Harlan Rogers. Tracks A2, A3, A5, A6, and B2 arranged by Danniebelle Hall.
Featuring Danniebelle Hall on vocals and piano, backed by a session band consisting of Harlan Rogers on piano and organ, Mike Escalante on organ, Dean Parks and Fred Tackett on guitar, Dennis Parker on bass, Bill Maxwell on drums, and Kenneth Nash on percussion. Flugelhorn and trumpet provided by Tommy Lokey.
