Description
The six-track CD-EP Lifeline is a collaborative project by the British singer/songwriter Tricia Richards and poet Caroline Bonnett, independently released in 2002.
Tricia is of course the wife of renowned worship man Noel Richards and has penned some of Noel’s fine lyrics down the years. She has also, as anyone who has experienced Noel’s ministry when Tricia is accompanying him, a top rate performance poet. This little CD (just over 23 minutes including repeats of the backing instrumentals) offers three of her works «In The Beginning», «First Love» and «Face To Face» which illustrate the different stages of life and our relationship with God. Very powerful and thought provoking they are too. The music, played by Caroline, complements the lyrics, simple synthesised soundscapes with the subtlest of rhythmic backings, never competing with the poetry. However, the music works just as well on its own and for some they may enjoy listening to this for reflective purposes. This is a good and interesting project that inspires and rejuvenates and could also provide that something different for a Sunday service. [Paul Kerslake, Cross Rhythms, August 2010]
