My Concrete Heart (Will Beat Again) is a six-track CD-EP by the British singer and songwriter Tina Boonstra, released on 7Core Music in February 2018. The album was produced by Trevor Michael.
If you believed that Britain’s Christian music scene had lost its capacity to produce top quality singer/songwriters, you need to hear this six-song EP. Tina Boonstra is an exceptional new talent (though maybe not that new… under the name Christina Boonstra she released a single and an EP independently). What Tina needed to build on her gigs and festival appearances was a top producer, able to bring out all the subtle nuances of her bitter sweet voice with accompaniments which suit the poignancy of her songs. 7Core Music’s Trevor Michael has given Tina just the right musical backdrop with just the right level of electronic embellishments but sometimes risking near acappella sections to keep the dynamics of her performances truly impacting. The songs «Prodigal» and «I Think I See You Now», both released as singles, are haunting as is this EP’s title track. Here’s hoping Tina stays around for the long haul.
