Description

This is Not Our Shed , a five-track CD-EP, is the debut effort by the British alternative rock band [dweeb], independently released in 2004. The EP was produced, recorded, and mixed by Simon Wakeling and the band at DN’A Studios/Caedmon Complex in Thornbury, England, 2003 (except track 3 recorded and mixed by Stuart Reid). All tracks written by the band.

Living at the cross section of punk, emo and rock, [dweeb] are one of the first bands to emerge from the Nexus Academy in Coventry to create truly credible music. Blessed with a wonderfully bizarre sense of humour and an impressively eclectic list of musical influences, these four manage to astonish with their various twists and turns. Although it has to be said that there are moments when «Crumpet & Cakes» sails dangerously close to Prog Rock! But I’ll let that go because ‘This is Not Our Shed’ has knocked me out. From the throbbing rock of «Shine-o-matic» to the clipped economic silliness of «Fondue» and sheer joy of «Undefined», [dweeb] deliver. Add to this the closing «Needless Illness» with its insightful views of the human condition and the result is an exceptional debut. [Mike Rimmer, Cross Rhythms, December 2004]
