Description
The Faith is an album by the American hip-hop artist Da’ T.R.U.T.H. (born Emanuel Lee Lambert, Jr.), released on Cross Movement Records in October 2005, manufactured and distributed by Provident Integrity Distribution.
Already making waves on Christian radio all over the place, this former drummer and self-confessed CCM fan with no interest in rap music has certainly done a big u-turn. ‘The Faith’ (“not A faith” as the Cross Movement protege says in overture «Welcome To The Faith») is hugely impressive. The album is authentic, provocative, challenging and largely inspired by the examples of Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott, the celebrated martyrs of the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. Not only is this album about provoking thought, it also has its radio-friendly moments. «Incredible Christian» reminds the listener of Chaka Khan’s «Ain’t Nobody». «Go» is one of several old school moments and «The Portrait (Da Vinci Code Snapshots)» will appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike. You won’t need to feel embarrassed to play this album to any rap fan, trust me. [Steve Best, Cross Rhythms, February 2006]
