…Till They Know How Much You Care is the debut album by the American country duo Wilcox & Pardoe (Vince Wilcox and Don Pardoe), released on Light Records in May 1996. The album was produced by Rob Frazier.

Vince Wilcox, known for ‘Reconciled’, his 1993 solo debut project, has teamed up with former road manager, keyboardist and background singer Don Pardoe for this dazzling collection of uncompromising Christian country. Produced by Rob Frazier, themes of family, friendship and fidelity are explored through songs rich with story and genuinely catchy hooks carried on simple melodies that invite the listener to sing along.

Stand-outs include Michael Puryear and Dwight Liles haunting «To Keep the River Runnin’», an Eagles-flavored rocker which reminds us of the reason for our trials; and «I Think About You», written by country legend, Don Schlitz with Steve Seskin, tackles the issue of viewing woman as sexual objects. The title cut, a tender ballad penned by Wilcox with Puryear, tells the story of a preacher who learns the value of faith in action; “Cause there are people all around us and each one has a need/ Just waiting for somebody to be a friend in deed.”

Overall, it is well-crafted, touching lyrics that make this debut by Wilco & Pardoe a standout. Their simple, straight-forward, two-part harmonies may lack the grit and glitz of mainstream country’s Brooks & Dunn, but they are filled with true heart and humility, enough to let you know how much they care.
