Rebecca St. James

Description

The self-titled debut album by the Australian singer and songwriter Rebecca St. James was released on ForeFront Records in January 1994, distributed in the US by Star Song Communications. (In 1991, a 13 year old Rebecca did self-release an album entitled Refresh My Heart composed entirely of Hillsong songs.) The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Bill Deaton.

Featuring 16 year old Rebecca St. James on vocals, backed by a session band consisting of Blair Masters on keyboards, Dann Huff on guitars, Tommy Sims on bass, and Chester Thompson on drums. Background vocals provided by Bob Carlisle, Lisa Cochran, Chris Eaton, Kim Fleming, and Amy Joy.

Originally from Australia 16 year old Rebecca is a new ForeFront signing and judging from the quality of this finely crafted, hook-laden set it won’t be long before the lass is up there with the Susan Ashtons and the Twila Parises in America’s radio Top Ten. Plenty of kick in the production with «Everything I Do» with its tasty guitar riffs and its laid back verses leading into a socking chorus is a particular standout. Another cut, the funkiest thing on the album «We Don’t Need It» has already got some Christian radio play on this side of the pond. If you’re looking for classy, pop gospel look no further.
