Description

Godbox is the debut album by the British indie rock band Explode The TV, independently released on Sugarbomb Records in December 2012. The album was recorded at Milk Studio in London, England; with Tom Aitkenhead producing. Explode The TV is Bentley Browning on vocals, Andi Skipsey on bass, and Chris Witherall on drums.

According to their website, Explode The TV were to be featured on a Sky TV show before being removed due to behaviour and comments made when filming! Following an EP and single release (both tracks, «Use Me» and «Cry For Attention» are featured here), this their debut album has been produced by Tom Altenhead (Kooks and Mystery Jets) and features song writing from members Bentley, Chris and Andi. The opener (after the «Intro») «Pure Water», lays the foundation of solid rock, spiritually focused lyrics and mind tingling music that does not want to leave! Outstanding tracks include the extremely radio friendly «Treasure» with Bentley’s inviting lead vocals and «London Prayer» with its slight U2 leanings help to make this album a great listen. I look forward to hearing more from this band whose music here demonstrates how a debut album should sound. [Stephen Luff, Cross Rhythms, August 2013]
