The White Room is the third album by the Swedish born, American based singer, songwriter, and producer Jonathan Thulin, released on Dream Records in 2012, manufactured by Dream Records and distributed in the US by EMI CMG Distribution. Re-issued the following year, manufactured by Capitol Christian Music Group, distributed in the US by Capitol Christian Distribution. The album was produced by Jonathan Thulin and David Thulin, assisted by Sean Cook. Mixed by Luke Fredrickson.
It’s not often you find an album which blends pop music and biblical lyrics with such ease. Songs such as the previously released single «Dead Come To Life» featuring Charmaine and «I Am Nothing» see Thulin channelling worship into a popular music context, something which this album shows that he excels in. Swedish American Thulin appears to have gone with a slightly different approach with ‘The White Room’ in comparison to his previous albums. Although this album still sounds nimbly produced, the style of his music appears to have morphed and headed in a different musical direction. Be prepared for a mix of euro pop and something close resembling a mellow version of For King & Country as Thulin starts big with «Masquerade» before gradually relaxing from «Torches» onwards as the production thins out to more personal, reflective songs. There is also a track featuring guest Rachael Lampa. All in all, ‘The White Room’ is an impressive stylistic development by the gifted singer/songwriter. [Samuel Parker, Cross Rhythms, February 2013]
