Frøet

Description

Frøet is the sole album by the Norwegian folk/pop/gospel quartet Mark, released on the independent Norwegian gospel label Noahs Ark in 1982. The album was recorded by Trygve Thue, Petter Berentsen, and Sverre Henriksen at Bergen Lydstudio in Bergen, Norway; and was produced and arranged by Rolf Løvland with Rune Larsen co-producing. Mixed by Terje Syvertsen at FA-Studio in Oslo; Norway, and also mixed at Bergen Lydstudio. Featuring a cover of the Noel Paul Stookey 1971-classic, “Wedding Song (There is Love)” (translated into Norwegian by Kristin Voll Tesdal and Ragnar Tesdal, entitled “Bryllaupssong”).

Mark features Astrid Voll, Marit Voll, and Kristin Voll Tesdal (21. august 1955 – 10. juli 2024), with Kristin’s husband Ragnar Tesdal on acoustic piano. Backed by a session band featuring producer Rolf Løvland on acoustic and electric piano, Prophet 5 synthesizer, and percussion (with Gunnar Bjelland providing piano solo on track A2 and synthesizer on track B3), Torkil Myhre (of Soli Deo fame) and Tore Thoresen on guitars, Gaute Storaas on bass, with Magne Lunde and Torleif Iversen providing drums.
