Blå Koral

Description

Blå Koral is the first instrumental album by a duo consisting of the Norwegian blues guitarist Knut Reiersrud and the Norwegian organist Iver Kleive, released on the Norwegian indie label Kirkelig Kulturverksted in May 1991. The album was recorded during April 2-3, 1991 by Erik Hillestad and Truls Birkeland at Sankt Knuds Kirke (a.k.a. Odense Domkirke), Denmark; with Hillestad producing. Iver Kleive played the church organ made by Marcussen & Søn in 1965 and Iver Kleive played his Takamine and Fender guitars. One of the album tracks, the old Norwegian folk tune/psalm “Overmåde full av nåde,” was actually played by the duo during the opening ceremony at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
