Description

En underlig familie is the sophomore album by the Norwegian singer and songwriter Bjarte Leithaug, released on the Norwegian gospel label Storm Production in 1984, distributed by Master Music. The album was recorded at Sigma Studio in Bergen, Norway; with Finn Pedersen of Good News fame and Svein Gundersen producing for Storm Production. Mixed at Bel Studio in Oslo, Norway. All songs written by Bjarte Leithaug except track A4 featuring music co-written with Svein Gundersen and track A5 co-written by Svein Gundersen (music) and Finn Pedersen (lyrics), a track taken from their musical Exodus (featuring Bjarte Leithaug on lead vocals).

Featuring Bjarte Leithaug on lead vocals and guitar, backed by Jan Inge Wiig-Andersen and Gunnar Bjelland on keyboards, Torkil Myhre of Soli Deo fame on guitar, Øyvin Sønnesyn on bass, and Jan Sollesnes on drums and percussion. Background vocals provided by Inger Johanne Haaland and Svein Gundersen (with members from the youth choir of Bergen Frikirke featured on track B2). Saxophone by Jan Kåre Hystad. (Track A5, “Hem’lige disipler”, is taken from the musical Exodus released by Storm Production in 1984, featuring Kjetil Bjerkestrand on keyboards, Ola Slaaen on guitar, Rolf Graff on bass, and Per Hillestad on drums and percussion)
