Description
God in the Flesh, sub-titled Music from the Late Late Service 4, is the fourth album by the Glasgow dance worship pioneers Late Late Service, released on Sticky Music in 1994.
The Late, Late Service is a Christian Community based in Glasgow. We first began meeting together over 4 years ago and describe ourselves as an ecumenical missionary congregation, committed to working in partnership with other local churches.
LLS has 38 full members, with ages ranging from 1 to 40 something. Our community is democratic and non-clerical and women and men are equal partners in its work and leadership. Together we work to develop creative ritual, physical spirituality and radical community and to be a touching place for people who find mainstream church alienating or inaccessible.
Our worship is the centre of our life together. As Christians we are united around the common creeds of the Church and God’s self-revelation in the Bible. We try to be open to the widest dimensions of the Christian Church and to celebrate and explore our faith through the media of contemporary culture. We are committed to open dialogue with people of other faith traditions and to working for peace and justice.
This is the 4th album of LLS music. You are free to use any of this music in a worship setting, although our aim has always been to encourage others to do their own thing, rather than becoming consumers of our thing. Outside worship settings, normal copyright restrictions apply. Some of the songs were written for God In The Flesh, a BBC Radio 1 programme broadcast on Christmas Day 1993, some for Sunday morning worship at Greenbelt Festival 1993, the others for worship services in Glasgow.
