In the Witness Box

Description

In the Witness Box is a solo album by the American hard rock vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and producer Ken Tamplin, released by Ken Tamplin Music in 1995, distributed The Benson Music Group in the US. The album was recorded and mixed by Ken Tamplin and was as well produced by Tamplin with Frank Loomis co-producing. Featuring Ken Tamplin on vocals and guitar, Joey Tafolla on lead guitar, and a rhythm section consisting of Tad Dery on bass and Stefan Svensson on drums.

The pioneering hard rock/metal guitarist offers a high-energy disc that serves as his opinion on the State of the Union; «Feed Me» (about the broadcast media), «Death By Inches» (alcoholism) and «Colorline» (racial tension) are among the tunes which reflect that theme. Tamplin’s in fine voice, and as usual, he’s surrounded by a terrific band. A reunion with former partner Lanny Cordola on a few songs also makes this worth checking out. [Bruce A. Brown, CCM, July 1995]
