Description
The Essential Jars of Clay is a double disc compilation album by the American alternative pop band Jars of Clay, released on Essential Records in September 2007, a division of Brentwood Music, distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution and Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The album is part of the Sony BMG series The Essential, which is a series of greatest hits collections released on Legacy, a sub-label of Sony.
With their mammoth self-titled debut album in 1995, Jars of Clay established themselves as a force in alternative rock and one of the first Christian rock bands to crossover into the mainstream. The Essential Jars of Clay is the first-ever career retrospective from the band containing all of their biggest hits, rarities and fan favorites. Featuring the debut crossover hit single «Flood» along with rarities such as «Widowing Field» from the When We Were Warriors soundtrack and other much-sought-after favorites like «Little Drummer Boy», The Essential Jars of Clay assembles all of the group’s must-have songs.
