Sørlandsrock

Description

Sørlandsrock is the sole album by the Norwegian pop-rock band Envegskjøring, released on Tonep in 1980. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed February – August 1980 by Alf Emil Eik at Cross Studio in Kristiansand, Norway; with the band co-producing and arranging. All songs written by band members.

Envegskjøring features Knut Olav Jeppestøl on lead and backing vocals, Dag Lauvland on guitar as well as lead and backing vocals, Einar Arild Hauge on keyboards and backing vocals, Vidar Bøe on bass and backing vocals, and Ole Tom Torjussen on drums and backing vocals.

Drummer Ole Tom Torjussen joined Kainos in time for the national tour supporting their 1980-release Tolvte time, and played on Kainos’ third and final album as well. Dag Lauvland, another member of Envegskjøring, released a solo album in 1989 entitled 1 Step Closer.

Note: Simultaneously released on cassette and 12-inch vinyl LP by Tonep with the LP edition housed in a gatefold sleeve with the lyrics printed on the inside. The band also released a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single on Tonep in 1981 featuring the non-album track “Lennon du er borte nå” as the A-side, with the album track “Avita” on the flip-side.
