Description
I’ll Never Stop Lovin’ You is the third solo album by the American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Leon Patillo, released on Myrrh Records in 1982, a division of Word. The album was recorded and mixed by Skip Konte at Front Page Studio in Costa Mesa, California; with Leon Patillo and Konte producing. String arrangements by Herb Jimmerson and vocal arrangements by Leon Patillo. All songs written by Leon Patillo except track B4 co-written with Carlos Santana and track A3 written by Jerry Peters.
Featuring Leon Patillo on lead vocals as well as acoustic piano, organ, and synthesizers (OBX-A and Jupiter 8) backed by a session band consisting of Paul Jackson Jr. on guitars (with Carlos Santana providing lead guitar on both the title track and track B3), Freddie Washington on bass, and Ricky Heath on congas, bongos, and percussion. Background vocals on side one provided by Greg Walker, Lynn Davis, and Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire fame, as well as Leon Patillo (except track A5 featuring Lynn Davis, Margaret Ingram, as well as Patillo). Lynn Davis also is soloist on track B2.
I’ll Never Stop Lovin’ You was included among the Best Albums of 1982 by CCM Magazine, on a list featuring thirteen albums. The album track “Cornerstone” was as well included among the Top Five Songs.

A full-page advertisement for various new releases on Word Records, including Leon Patillo’s I’ll Never Stop Lovin’ You, was featured in the October 2, 1982 issue of Billboard Magazine. (The same edition as well featured a large section dedicated to gospel music, entitled A Billboard Special Report: Gospel Music – Shedding Light Along the Way.)
