Back to the Rock is an album by the American rock combo Classic Petra, independently released by the band in November 2010. Classic Petra consists of five former members of Petra (Greg X. Volz on lead vocals, John Lawry on keyboards, Bob Hartman on guitar, Mark Kelly on bass, and Louie Weaver on drums) and the album features 10 re-recorded Petra songs originally recorded and included on four Petra album released during the time period 1981-1984, as well as a reworked re-recording of a Greg X. Volz solo song (“Back To The Rock”) and a brand new song (“Too Big To Fail”). The album was produced by Petra keyboardist John Lawry. The Classic Petra constellation also released a live album simply entitled Back to the Rock – Live.
A follow-up album entitled Back to the Rock II was released by CPR Band in December 2017. (CPR Band consists of Greg X. Volz on lead vocals, John Lawry on keyboards, Kirk Henderson on guitar, Ronny Cates on bass, and Louie Weaver on drums; four former members of Petra and long time associate Kirk Henderson.)

Note: The CD was initially independently released by Classic Petra. Only 5,000 copies were pressed (1,000 of those were signed) and they were first offered for sale at the first Classic Petra show at Trinity City Music Hall, Hendersonville, TN on November 20, 2010. The remaining copies (none of the signed copies were left) were exclusively sold through the Classic Petra online merchandise store. Some additional signed inserts were sent out to some fans who couldn’t make it to the Hendersonville show.
