Description
Glow is a five-track digital-only EP by the British DJ and electronic dance music composer Andy Hunter, independently released by Hunter in July 2012.
Andy has been around for a few years and has consistently created classic songs such as «Amazing», «Go», «Stars», etc. This five-song EP, his first independent, follows up the mainly instrumental ‘Collide‘ and i feel is a return to form for the gifted producer. Andy has an undoubted gift of creating music that fits in the dance genre but doesn’t replicate the sounds of others, like so much dance music output. In fact, Andy is unique. ‘Glow’ features two vocal songs – the title track which was inspired by Andy’s trip with Compassion international to Kolkota to see the child he sponsors. Here he was inspired by Isaiah 58 to write the song about serving the poor. The track features the soulful vocals of Birmingham-based diva Monique Thomas and is a decent song without really catching fire. The other vocal track is the undoubted pick of the bunch. «Spiral» with silky smooth vocals by Beth Bullock is an indispensable song that I can’t get out of my head. This is what Andy is best at. «Rise Up» starts off the EP, a full-on belter with minimal vocals which is a clarion call to the Church at large to rise up and get active in what God has called them to. «One Motion» has a bit of a retro vibe to it and «Hold On», which is similar to the material on ‘Collide’, both have minimal vocals which round off the EP nicely.
