A Place Where You Belong

Description

A Place Where You Belong is the third and final album by the American pop/rock band The Normals, released on ForeFront Records in February 2002, distributed in the US by Chordant Distribution Group. The album was produced by Malcolm Burn.

The third release for this American fivesome offer a seemless mixture of haunting acoustic songs, moody rock arrangements, esoteric atmospherics and evocative lyrics that is infused with their own brand of Southern comfort that is well worth a listen. A variety of musical textures keeps the listener interested and thought provoking lyrics signify a depth and maturity that implies this is a band not easy to ignore, with songs that possess an impending visceral impact even at their quietest. Their musical influences seem to range from Radiohead to Peter Gabriel to REM with a distinctive American feel, this is a musical outfit that seem to play well together as a band with passion, an accessible musical style and a crucial ingredient for those pursuing the idiom of great songwriting: soul.
