A Tribute to the Past is a tribute album by the German metal band Treasure Seeker, released on Treasure Hunt Records in 1998. The recording pays homage to various Christian hard rock/metal bands of the 1980s. The album was produced and recorded by Michael Jesch and band member William Hieb. Mixed at Treasure Hunt Studios in Hattingen; Germany.
Featuring Olaf Hayer on lead vocals; Andy Gutjahr and Marc Piras on guitars; William Hieb on bass; and Danilo Baldorf on drums.

An album that pays homage to a pile of ’80s Christian rockers from Stryper to Bloodgood to Jerusalem. German band Treasure Seeker are the ultimate ’80s Christian rock tribute band and they recreate the sound with a careful attention to detail. Rez’s «Silence Screams» screams out, Leviticus’ «Flames Of Fire» sets the speakers alight! Classic material like «To Hell With The Devil» is all here and although the whole concept does seem faintly ridiculous, it’s fun remembering just how OTT some of this stuff was!
