Testimony is the sixth album by the American contemporary gospel combo The Richard Smallwood Singers, released on Sparrow Records in 1992.
Ever since the seminal ‘Richard Smallwood Singers‘ album emerged onto the market, this soulful team have clocked up a series of blistering releases, which nimbly straddle the more ‘traditional’ sounds of black music history and the new move towards contemporary gospel (funky rhythm tracks et al). The cornerstone of their sound has been Richard, who composes thoroughly catchy songs (though often pretty light on lyrical content) and has an intuitive ability to find top quality female singers (a seeming prerequisite for US gospel success).
