Secrets of the Vine

The six-track CD-EP Secrets of the Vine: Music… a Worship Experience is a multi-artist project released on ForeFront Records in 2002. Featuring original songs inspired by the book Secrets of the Vine, created in partnership with Multnomah Publishers and Bruce Wilkinson.

This EP contains six original songs, all inspired by the book Secrets Of The Vine. The book is written by Dr Bruce Wilkinson, who explores John 15 to show readers how to make maximum impact for God. Dr Wilkinson demonstrates how Jesus is the Vine of life, discusses four levels of “fruit bearing” (doing the good work of God), and reveals three life-changing truths that will lead readers to new joy and effectiveness in God’s kingdom. The CD features Margaret Becker, Chris Tomlin, Janna Long, the Katinas, Kim Hill and a duet by Adrienne Liesching and Geoff Moore. The songs are supposed to follow the theme of the book and Becker starts the ball rolling with an average sort of title track. «Satisfied» sees Tomlin praying to ask God as ruler of his life. The guitar-led song has some great piano playing too and this makes for a good song. Long’s «Awakening» is a nice MOR pop song and the closing duet, «In Christ Alone», is well done. Why an EP?
