It’s been a while since we heard from Nottingham-based Freddie Kofi and boy has he grown! Clearly establishing his credentials, Freddie keeps winning international mainstream songwriting awards with his music whilst also having a shot at the mainstream market here at home. Opportunity is knocking and Freddie is always eager to open the door! This new single is strong enough to make many sit up and notice. Fresh and happening, it contains three mixes of «Everlasting Love» and from the opening vocal and drum loop of the initial ‘Radio Mix’, it’s immediately hooky. Working with the producer/remixer Tony Bean, Freddie has created a huge vibe and there’s plenty going on here. Just give it a couple of plays and you’ll quickly be singing along – surely the indication that this deserves to be in your CD player this summer! Freddie’s voice always reminds me of Seal with that rich emotional quality and on the “R&B Dub” version of the song it’s given more room to breathe as the track is stripped away by Tony Bean and a rap from KMA Reveal is added into the mix. For the third mix you get Cas Roc (once part of the ’80s hitmaking band Krush, now a sought after remixer) creating the ‘Sunshine Dub’ version of the tune which transforms «Everlasting Love» into a floor-filling club tune. «Everlasting Love» is the first single from Freddie’s forthcoming ‘Journey, Destination Paradise’ album and on the strength of this, I wanna hear more!
