Description
Clear is the third solo album by the British singer and songwriter Steve Butler of Talking Drums and Lies Damned Lies fame, independently released on Sticky Music in 2004. The album was recorded by Jörg Hassenblad at Ocean Wave Studios in Edinburgh, Scotland; early 2004, with Ash Peters producing. Featuring “Troubles”, a Lies Damned Lies song that never got recorded.
Featuring Steve Butler on guitar, piano and vocals (“I wanted to limit the ‘palette’ of instrumentation even more, so piano is the only keyboard, and I used only single-tracked guitars“), with Charlie Irvine of Lies Damned Lies and Stewart Veitch on additional guitars, as well as a rhythm section consisting of Ewen Vernal of Deacon Blue on bass and Eddy John on drums. Background vocals provided by Dot Reid of Lies Damned Lies, Suzanne Adam, as well as Annie McCaig of Nutshell fame.
