I Only Want to See You There

Description

I Only Want to See You There is the first of three posthumous albums by the American singer, songwriter, and pianist Keith Green, released on Sparrow Records in March 1983. The album, produced by Bill Maxwell, features previously released songs – three long remix versions of previously released songs, three live song introductions, and two live versions of previously released songs. Assembly and remixes engineered by Winn Kutz at Mama Jo’s Recording Studio in North Hollywood, California. Introduction by Keith and “My Eyes Are Dry” is orchestrated by Harlan Rogers, conducted by Phil Perkins with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded at Olympic Studio in London, England.

According to Billy Ray Hearn, Sparrow Records label president, Keith Green had sold a million records for the company during the five years up to his death in July, 1982.

I Only Want to See You There – Keith Green – Sparrow SPR 1066 – Producer: Bill Maxwell.

Encompassing his musical output over his last five years, Sparrow pays tribute to the late Keith Green with a compilation album that extends from his initial “For Him Who Has Ears To Hear” release to his final “Songs For The Shepherd” LP, offering two previously unreleased live cuts in addition. Green’s unabashed fervor and commitment are sheathed in semi-elaborate orchestrations, disguising occasional inclinations toward folk melodies, but the message is held out front. A part of Sparrow’s “747” program, the package also contains a specially designed multi-page booklet which outlines the history and ministry of this gospel artist.
