What Are You Listening To? Modern Worship is a multi-artist compilation released on Chordant Distribution Group in 2002, marketed and distributed in the EU by Kingsway Communications.
Boy oh boy, they are almost giving it away, @ £1.99 it’s almost a freeware ploy: “Listen to this and buy some of the CDs the songs come from.” Can’t complain about that, especially as Charlie Hall’s guitar hook laden «Salvation» is on here, it rocks man! Yeah, there’s bound to be some tasty stuff, «Let My Words Be Few» is scintillatingly groovy. But that’s Rebecca St James so what can you expect? Most of the 12 cuts are guitar-driven worship from the likes of Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Fusebox, David Crowder Band, Petra and others. 12 cuts at a bargain price. Near R’n’B gets a look in too with Charmaine’s «Acceptable». But even that has a blistering guitar solo, in fact I’m still sanding the veneer of the IKEA shelf where our CD player stands, Lorraine will go mad when she sees it. But hey, I’m not scared of Lorraine. [Paul Poulton, Cross Rhythms, January 2003]
