El Shaddai [CD single]

Description

El Shaddai is a CD-single by the American contemporary gospel group Winans Phase 2, released on Myrrh Records in 1999, a division of Word Entertainment, in co-operation with Epic (catalogue number ESK-42147). The track was taken from the up-coming multi-artist project Songs from the Book released on both Word Entertainment and Epic, May 18. “El Shaddai” was written by Michael Card and John Tompson and originally released on Amy Grant’s 1982-album, Age to Age (the track actually peaked at No. 1 on the CCM Inspirational Chart back in 1982). (The song was as well recorded by Michael Card on his 1983-album, Legacy.)

The track was recorded by Corey Fite at Word Studio with Chris Harris producing for Fun Attic Productions. Mixed by Tom Laune at Bridgeway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Featuring vocals by Winans Phase 2, Michael Card on acoustic guitars, David Davidson on violin, with Amy Grant providing background vocals and Tony Miracle providing keyboard programming.
