Magic Man / Brand New Love [7-inch single]

Description

“Magic Man” – b/w “Brand New Love” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American rock band Stonewood Cross, released on London City Records in 1975. The tracks were recorded around 1975 in Holland, Michigan. The band only cut one single.

Stonewood Cross features Larry Walters on guitar and lead vocals; Kurt Schrotenboer on guitar and vocals; Bruce Bos on bass and vocals; and Jack Meyer on drums and vocals.

Two thunderous hard rock tracks from a Michigan band that Harmony magazine likened to the James Gang. Both clock in at six minutes and feature loads of loud guitar. They had plans for a full length LP, but as far I know that never transpired. Ah, if only. «Magic Man» did make it onto the Holy Fuzz compilation. [Ken Scott, The Archivist]
