The Adventures of Dr. Redempto is an album by the American singer, songwriter and producer Gary S. Paxton, independently released on GarPax/Branson Music Group in 2004. (Full title: The Adventures Of Dr Redempto alias Gary S. Paxton Crainially Presents The Wordologist Series Volume 1)
This cram-packed compilation is a great showcase for one of Christendom’s greatest eccentrics. Ranging from surreal humour like «When I Die Just Bury Me At Walmart (So My Wife Will Come And Visit Me)» through to heartwarming inspirational music like «Hallelujah For His Cross» this is a head-spinning showcase for the producer, songwriter and singer now based Brandon, Missouri. The 20 tracks here were largely recorded in the ’90s though one or two were made in 2004. As you’d expect from this studio maestro, production and arrangements are always inventive and with such glorious titles as «Only Christians Kill Their Wounded», «There Ain’t No Atheists In Hell (They’re All On Fire For Jesus)» and «Dr Jack, The Un-Godly Quack» there is plenty here to show that the hitmaking veteran has lost none of his wit and confrontational abilities.
