Minstrel’s Voyage

Description

Minstrel’s Voyage is a compilation album by the American singer and songwriter Paul Clark, released on Clark’s own label Seed Records in 1980, distributed by Word.

This album is like a time capsule of contemporary Christian music. It demonstrates, irrefutably, the tremendous progress contemporary Christian music has made during the last decade. Paul Clark has been recording since the very early ’70s. Thus, his eighth LP, includes music from each of his seven previous albums, tracing his musical development (which has been substantial). Included here are two of Clark’s classic wedding songs, «Let Us Climb the Hill Together» and «Woman…the Man That I Love» (featuring a duet with Kelly Willard). Other highlights include «Hand to the Plow», a seven-minute landmark of progressive Christian jazz-rock, and «Holding On to You», featuring guitar and voice by Phil Keaggy. Since some of the earlier Paul Clark albums might be a little difficult to find by now, this LP is almost a must. [John W. Styll, CCM, April 1981]
